Comprehensive Japanese media reported that on the morning of August 1 local time, the 6th typhoon "Kanu" in 2023 has arrived in the southeast of Okinawa, Japan, and is expected to approach Okinawa from the evening of 1 to the early morning of 2, and more than 500 flights have been canceled in the nearby area.

 

On the morning of August 1, local time, affected by typhoon "Kanu", many places in Okinawa, Japan appeared gale weather.

The news released by the Japan Meteorological Agency shows that "Kanu" is currently moving northwest at a speed of 20 kilometers per hour, and its maximum wind speed in the center has reached 45 meters per second, and the typhoon center belongs to the "storm area" within a radius of 220 kilometers, with an average wind speed of 25 meters per second.

 

The Meteorological Agency expects that "Kanu" will approach Okinawa from the evening of the 1st to the early morning of the 2nd local time, where there may be waves of more than 10 meters and heavy rain.

 

Affected by "Kanu", more than 500 flights were canceled at Naha Airport in Okinawa and Kagoshima Airport in Kyushu Island.

 

The meteorological Agency has issued a storm and wave warning, and urged local people to be alert to secondary disasters such as mudslides, landslides and floods, and to seek shelter in sturdy buildings in advance.
